Distant Origin VOY Season 3 Episode 23
Star Trek: Voyager Season 3 Episode 23 "Distant Origin" explained. Join me as I review and recap a well beloved episode that I think is pretty good. It's the episode where we find out that sentient dinosaurs left Earth billions and billions of years ago and set up a civilization in the delta quadrant that is far more technically advanced than the Federation. However what the plot of the episode boils down to is a different version of "The Planet of the Apes" the original 1968 movie but with humanoid dinosaurs instead of humanoid apes. Because both are cases where there's a sceintist try to prove the connection between their species and human beings, and the scientist is met with overwhelming opposition by the ruling party that consider such sentiments heresy. And the gimmick of following the guest stars for the first 20 minutes before even seeing any of the Voyager crew is something I'm mixed on. Come see my first reaction as I breakdown the episode and attempt to give my in depth analysis
