Profit and Loss DS9 Season 2 Episode 18

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine season 2 episode 18 "Profit and Loss" explained. Join me as I review and recap the episode which is modeled off of Casablanca but ironically doesn't work because it's not enough like Casablanca. Quark is completely out of character as he's head over heels in love and willing to throw his bar and profits away for the love of a woman. This is not how the character of Rick in Casablanca was portrayed either, and ironically Quark would have been more in character if he were more like Rick who was stoic, apathetic, and cold. And over all it's a misuse of many characters including Quark, Odo and Garek and thus the episode just fails.
