Rejoined DS9 Season 4,Episode 5

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Season 4 Episode 5 "Rejoined" explained. Join me as I review and recap the episode with the first same sex couple kiss in Star Trek, but it's more than just that it tells a great a powerful love story and the kiss isn't done as a ploy. In fact it's never even mentioned that the two lovers are the same sex implying such matters don't matter in the 24th century, however at the same time the story of the Trill taboo of forbidden love tells an allegory of the discriminations that LGBTQ+ couples face. It's not a perfect analogy but it hits on key notes. In the episode Avery Brooks does a masterful job of directing, and Terry Ferrell gives perhaps the best performance in the show, as the chemistry between the characters is undeniable.
