Enchantment of Eternity’s Star Trek Episode Reviews

Welcome to Enchantment of Eternity. I’m Marc, and I’m on a mission to analyze every episode of the Star Trek Franchise. I started with The Original Series, and then moved on to The Next Generation, and now I’m covering Deep Space Nine and Voyager in order of airdate. It’s my mission statement to always give my honest opinion on each and every episode regardless of what the popular opinion is, so sometimes I have some hot takes. I prefer character based stories. I try to analyze the writing, acting, cinematography, and music of each episode, with emphasis on the writing. I explore themes and commentaries on the episode and give my opinion on whether or not it works, as well as explore some behind the scenes tidbits and trivia, and share my personal experience with the episode. We also hear from my patreon supporters and what they think of the episode. So check me out and give it a listen.

Join me as I cover the season 2 finale of DS9 where after being name dropped 3 times we're finally introduced to the Dominion. It's not a consistent episode though, as it starts out as a silly comedy with Sisko, Jake, Quark, and Nog going on a camping trip in the Gamma Quadrant where hi-jinx ensue,  but then turns into a deadly serious suspense thriller when we're introduced into the Gamma Quodrant's most destructive force who promise to threaten the Federation.

Tribunal DS9 Season 2, Episode 25

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Season 2 Episodes 25 "Tribunal" explained. Join me as I review and recap the episode where O'Brien is arrested by the Cardassians as he is being framed for smuggling weapons to the Maquis. And they put him on "trail", and they keep uses the language of a trial such as "lawyers", "judges", "winning cases", but the universal translator must be malfunctioning because this clearly isn't a trial, it's a propaganda show piece. And frankly this episode is boring, it tries to use dark humor that I don't find funny, and it's the beginning of the whole "O'Brien must suffer" trope which frankly I find to be lazy writing. Come see my first reaction as I breakdown the episode and attempt to give my in depth analysis

Join me as I cover the Next Generation's series finale "All Good Things..." which is one of the best series finales of all time, and certainly the best series finale in Star Trek. This two hour epic pays respect to the show that came before by honoring all the characters that came before and looking forward to a possible future. It's an amazing time travel story with a great character story for Picard, and it exemplifies everything Star Trek stands for, that humanity can be better.

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine season 2 episode 24 "The Collaborator" explained. Join me as I review and recap the episode that explores the fine line between being a hero and war criminal and how that line is a lot more blurry than people think. Bariel is accused of being a Collaborator right before the election to determine the next Kai. Someone who worked for the Bajoran Government under the Occupation who are all seen as collaborators tries to return to Bajor. And Kira learns it was actually Kai Opaka and not Bariel who collaborated with the Cardassians in order to save thousands of lives. So it really blurs the line on what everyone KNOWS to be good and evil, and I love that. Also this is the episode Winn becomes Kai which will effect the rest of the series going forward. Come see my first reaction as I breakdown the episode and attempt to give my in depth analysis

Join me as I cover the first and best episode where DS9 crosses into the Mirror Universe. The Actors have a blast hamming it up, and we get an intense story of Kira and Bashir trying to escape an upside down hellscape. Nana Visitor shines as playing duel roles of Kira and the evil messed up Intendant. Kira as to come face to face with a version of herself who is just like Gul Dukat, she embodies everything she despises, this makes for a fascinating episode.

Star Trek: The Next Generation Season 7 Episodes 24  "Preemptive Strike" explained. Join me as I review and recap the episode where Ro Laren returns and becomes the star of the episode as she infiltrates the Maquis. Ro Laren is one of my favorite characters in the show, and this episode really does her justice, and Michelle Forbes shines in this episode, in emotional power house as Ro slowly becomes enticed by The Maquis. Making this one of the best episodes of the show. Come see my first reaction as I breakdown the episode and attempt to give my in depth analysis

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Season 2 Episodes 22  "The Wire" explained. Join me as I review this classic Garak episode, which is the first episode to really showcase how amazing this character is. As his life is threatened because he left on a pleasure giving device that was never meant for continuos use, and Bashir struggles to save his life. You get Great Garak moments like "it's all true, especially the lies". Come see my first reaction as I breakdown the episode and attempt to give my in depth analysis

Star Trek: The Next Generation Season 7 Episodes 23 "Emergence" explained. Join me as I review and recap the episode with a ridiculous premise that the Enterprise becomes alive, the purpose of this life is apparently to create another life form but we never find out why this happened of what kind of life form the Enterprise created. This episode is just an excuse to do holodeck shenanigans, because the holodeck is the Enterprise's dreams or whatever so Troi, Data and Worf go into the holodeck to try to interpret what's going on and it's a bunch of ridiculous metaphors that just come off as cheesy. I don't like holodeck shenanigans. Come see my first reaction as I breakdown the episode and attempt to give my in depth analysis

Star Trek: The Next Generation Season 7 Episodes 22 "Bloodlines" explained. Join me as I review and recap the episode that shouldn't exist because they is literally no reason for it. We bring back Bok from the episode "The Battle" which was not a good episode, and he's played by a totally different actor, and there seems to be no reason to bring back this lack luster villain other than to introduce Picard's son that he didn't know he had. But as it turns out it's not his son, he's just a terrible actor. So why bother with this episode, why? Come see my first reaction as I breakdown the episode and attempt to give my in depth analysis
