Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Season 4 Episode 15 "Bar Association" explained. Join me as I review and recap the episode with pretty powerful commentary on workers' rights. In the great tradition of Star Trek, it makes poignant and relevant commentary on modern day society through the lens of sci fi. HOWEVER there's a lot of plot contrivances in order to make the plot happen that don't make any sense. Most prominent is the fact that because Quark runs his bar on a Bajoran space station administered by Starfleet, he never should have been allowed to abuse his employees in the first place, and even if he did he should have ben shut down instantly. Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Season 4 Episode 14 "Sons of Mogh" explained. Join me as I review and recap the episode where Worf's brother Kurn comes on the station wanting Worf to kill him in some Klingon ritual to end his dishonor. This is a continuation of the Rehash repeat story line of Worf being exiled from the Klingon Empire AGAIN. And of the misguided mistake of having the Klingons be the bad guys, so already this episode has me at a disadvantage and it doesn't really do anything to relieve that, especially the ending that proves not only is Worf a bad father, he's a bad brother too. Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Season 4 Episode 13 "Return to Grace" explained. Join me as I review and recap the episode where Dukat is the hero fighting against the EVIL Klingons, which is back assward if you ask me. Sure the play up the fact that Dukat is egotistical and only doing it for his own lust for power (although the ending undoes this by having him give up that power for the greater good) and he's being a dick and hitting on Kira like crazy, but I'm sorry that's not enough to justify a story where I'm rooting for Dukat and I never should be. Star Trek: Voyager Season 2 Episode 14 "Alliances" explained. Join me as I review and recap the episode that portrayed what Voyager should have been like for the majority of its run, forced to make alliances with the dominant aliens of the space regardless of how unsavory they might be. Many complain that this episode should have continued this storyline and that it sucks that it's contained to this one episode, which I agree, but I'd rather have it in this one episode than not at all, and I think this episode does an amazing job of exploring this topic. Star Trek: Voyager Season 2 Episode 13 "Prototype" explained. Join me as I review and recap the episode with the Robot that looks like it came straight from a 1950's sci-fi movie, but despite that I think the look of the robot works and feels quaint rather than cheesy. And the story works as well, as a great B'elanna character story as she forced with a strong moral dilemma. And this is a low key commentary in support of the Prime Directive.
