Enchantment of Eternity’s Star Trek Episode Reviews

Welcome to Enchantment of Eternity. I’m Marc, and I’m on a mission to analyze every episode of the Star Trek Franchise. I started with The Original Series, and then moved on to The Next Generation, and now I’m covering Deep Space Nine and Voyager in order of airdate. It’s my mission statement to always give my honest opinion on each and every episode regardless of what the popular opinion is, so sometimes I have some hot takes. I prefer character based stories. I try to analyze the writing, acting, cinematography, and music of each episode, with emphasis on the writing. I explore themes and commentaries on the episode and give my opinion on whether or not it works, as well as explore some behind the scenes tidbits and trivia, and share my personal experience with the episode. We also hear from my patreon supporters and what they think of the episode. So check me out and give it a listen.

In this podcast I'm joined by Alyssa and Darrin as we tackle my #1 favorite episode of the Star Trek franchise, the 1st season DS9 episode "Duet". Genocide, bigotry, and revenge, heavy topics that this episode explores will be discussed, as well as the creation of the best bottle episode in all of television.

Phage VOY Season 1, Episode 4

Star Trek: Voyager Season 1 Episode 4 "Phage" explained. Join me as I review and recap the introduction to the Vidiians, although I will say I was surprised when they brought them back they seemed like a one off alien to me. Anyway this episode is kind of suspenseful it has a nice cat and mouse element to it, but it's kind of ruined by how annoying Neelix is. And also Janeway let off these aliens that viciously attacked with a slap on the wrist and somehow expected them to take her threats seriously. Come see my first reaction as I breakdown the episode and attempt to give my in depth analysis

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Season 3 Episode 14 "Heart of Stone" explained. Join me as I review and recap the episode where it's confirmed that Odo is in love with Kira, which comes with a great twist. I debunk some nitpicks about the episode, and state what I think are valid nitpicks. Then I tackle Nog's decision to join Starfleet and how this is a massive retcon for both Nog and Rom. Come see my first reaction as I breakdown the episode and attempt to give my in depth analysis

Star Trek: Voyager Season 1 Episode 3 "Time and Again" explained. Join me as I review and recap the forgotten Time travel episode. It's okay, got some interesting use of time travel even if the time travel logic doesn't completely add up. I like how they use Kes and her telepathic skills, that was cool. But Janeway's strictness to the prime directive was a bit annoying. Anyway, Come see my first reaction as I breakdown the episode and attempt to give my in depth analysis

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Season 3 Episode 10 "Fascination" explained. Join me as I review and recap this highly dramatic episode where Vedek Bariel meets his fate. It's a great medical drama and good use of Bashir, and another great appearance by Kai Winn who is just as despicable as ever. And it has a really emotional ending with great music that is really powerful. It is marred by a terrible B plot though where Nog acts totally out of character, so that brings the episode down a bit. Come see my first reaction as I breakdown the episode and attempt to give my in depth analysis

Parallax VOY Season 1, Episode 2

Wednesday Mar 12, 2025

Wednesday Mar 12, 2025

Star Trek: Voyager Season 1 Episode 2 "Parallax" explained. Join me as I review and recap the second episode of Voyager which deals with the Maquis interrogating into the Starfleet crew and the difficulty involved in that. However it happens way too fast as this process should have taken several episodes. And we get another BS anomaly something that unfortunately is going to become very common place for Voyager. Come see my first reaction as I breakdown the episode and attempt to give my in depth analysis

Join me as I cover the pilot episode of Voyager. It's one of the best pilots, if not the best pilot in Trek, because it's a suspenseful, exciting story that does the job of introducing us to all the new characters in a way that feels natural and part of the story

Join me as I cover the 2 parter that explores Sisko, Bashir and Dax traveling back to 2024 as written in 1994. An interesting morality tale the tackles issues like homelessness and it has a cast of great guest characters, and overall is a great character story making it one of the best examples of Time Travel in Star Trek.

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Season 3 Episode 10 "Fascination" explained. Join me as I review and recap this silly episode where we get Lwaxana Troi once again and it's used in a ridiculous "Mid Summer Night's Dream' type story where everyone falls in lust with random other people. It's goofy and dumb, and actively unfunny and difficult to watch, but they do have a good side plot with Miles and Keiko O'Brien fighting over her absence which was one of the most realistic depictions of a marriage I've seen. Come see my first reaction as I breakdown the episode and attempt to give my in depth analysis

Defiant DS9 Season 3, Episode 9

Wednesday Mar 05, 2025

Wednesday Mar 05, 2025

Join me as I cover the somewhat overrated episode where Riker comes to DS9, but it's Thomas, not William, but that doesn't really matter because their both played by Jonathan Frakes. Kira bothers him about trying to be a hero but she's actually wrong, because he's being strategic which is smart. And Dukat is way too friendly in this episode for my tastes.
