Enchantment of Eternity’s Star Trek Episode Reviews
Welcome to Enchantment of Eternity. I’m Marc, and I’m on a mission to analyze every episode of the Star Trek Franchise. I started with The Original Series, and then moved on to The Next Generation, and now I’m covering Deep Space Nine and Voyager in order of airdate. It’s my mission statement to always give my honest opinion on each and every episode regardless of what the popular opinion is, so sometimes I have some hot takes. I prefer character based stories. I try to analyze the writing, acting, cinematography, and music of each episode, with emphasis on the writing. I explore themes and commentaries on the episode and give my opinion on whether or not it works, as well as explore some behind the scenes tidbits and trivia, and share my personal experience with the episode. We also hear from my patreon supporters and what they think of the episode. So check me out and give it a listen.

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine season 2 episode 20 & 21 "The Maquis Parts 1 & 2" explained. Join me as I review and recap the two parter that introduces the Maquis. We got a great guest star and a tragic relationship as Sisko needs to turn on his friend. We have a great political intrigue episode, and a story where the line between right and wrong is blurred. However I don't think that Maquis have a righteous cause because they live in a post scarcity society and so could have all the resources they want if they simply move. And these episode over power the Cardassains portraying them as too invincible to the point where they can block mind melds (lol) and the Federation renegades are portrayed as incompetent when they shouldn't be. Plus the final battle is really boring, so not the best 2 parter ever. Come see my first reaction as I breakdown the episode and attempt to give my in depth analysis

Star Trek: The Next Generation Season 7 Episodes 21 "Firstborn" explained. Join me as I review and recap the episode that makes Worf a good father, as it explores Worf trying to convince Alexander to undertake his journey to become a warrior. At his side is a warrior from the house of Mogh who seems to be able to connect to Alexander. However a great twist ending explains why that is, and makes Worf realize he shouldn't push him to become something he doesn't want to be. Star Trek: Deep Space Nine season 2 episode 19 "Blood Oath" explained. Join me as I review and recap the episode known for bring back 3 Klingon characters portrayed by their original actors from The Original Series. It is over hyped because this, as all TOS crossovers tend to be, but still a decent episode, maybe spends too much time on the whether or not Dax can come and not enough time establishing the antagonist, but still some good character moments. Also establishes Dax's love for Klingon culture. Come see my first reaction as I breakdown the episode and attempt to give my in depth analysis

Star Trek: The Next Generation Season 7 Episodes 20 "Journey's End" explained. Join me as I review and recap the episode that completely destroyed Wesley's character. He acts %100 out of character as he whines and acts like an entitled emo, and he quits Starfleet which %100 goes against his character as he was always destined to be a Starfleet Captain. We also get a plot that sets up the Maquis and the Native American colonist to pave the way for Chakotay on Voyager, and that's fine. Star Trek: Deep Space Nine season 2 episode 18 "Profit and Loss" explained. Join me as I review and recap the episode which is modeled off of Casablanca but ironically doesn't work because it's not enough like Casablanca. Quark is completely out of character as he's head over heels in love and willing to throw his bar and profits away for the love of a woman. This is not how the character of Rick in Casablanca was portrayed either, and ironically Quark would have been more in character if he were more like Rick who was stoic, apathetic, and cold. And over all it's a misuse of many characters including Quark, Odo and Garek and thus the episode just fails. Star Trek: The Next Generation Season 7 Episodes 19 "Genesis" explained. Join me as I review and recap what I think is the most polarizing episode in the entire show. Some people love it others despise it was a passion. Me? I fall more in the "love it" category. I always found it to be an effective horror, in fact I would say it's the best horror episode in the entire franchise, and does a really good job at a creepy tone. Is it silly and over the top, and is the science completely nonsensical? sure, but episodes like this you have just go with it. Star Trek: Deep Space Nine season 2 episode 17 "Playing God" explained. Join me as I review and recap the episode that the title and the promo led you to believe this would be a sci fi epic and morale dilemma about the formation of a proto-universe that is now threatening the lives of everyone in our universe, but noooo that's just a useless threat of the week side plot that no one cares about, instead this episode is about something faaaaaar less interesting, some Trill initiate coming to train under Jadzia who decides to act %100 out of character in this episode, as all the sudden she behaves like she's on spring break. And the Trill youth is so bland and boring I really couldn't care less. Come see my first reaction as I breakdown the episode and attempt to give my in depth analysis

Star Trek: The Next Generation Season 7 Episodes 18 "Eye of the Beholder" explained. Join me as I review and recap the episode that fully brings Worf and Troi together in a relationship... kind of. The two of them getting together was a terrible idea, but hey at least it wasn't as bad as Chakotay and Seven of Nine. The episode itself is a tone deaf take on suicide that involves some empathetic echo or some such nonsense, and features a lot of bad dialogue, and is just an excuse to put Worf and Troi together really. Star Trek: Deep Space Nine season 2 episode 16 "Shadow Play" explained. Join me as I review and recap the episode where Dax and Odo travel to the Gamma Quadrant and investigate a planet where people are mysteriously vanishing. Why does Odo come along? So the episode can happen. And Odo makes friends with a young girl who is played by one of the one good child actors to appear in TNG so why not bring her back for another role? Meanwhile Quark is up to some shenanigans on the station and the Kira and Bareil relationship start and it's off to a really stiff and awkward start. And Jake makes a decision that's a good character moment for this episode but will sentence him to be less important than many recurring guest characters for the rest of the show. Star Trek: The Next Generation Season 7 Episodes 17 "Masks" explained. Join me as I review and recap this hated and reviled episode that actually isn't that bad. Similar to "Move Along Home" this episode gets a lot of hate that isn't deserved. I think this episode executes a creepy atmosphere very well, the production value on the episode is great, and unlike most people I actually like Brent Spiner's performance I think he does a great job. Also it explores Picard's love of archeology in an interesting way, so I thought it was alright. Come see my first reaction as I breakdown the episode and attempt to give my in depth analysis
