Enchantment of Eternity’s Star Trek Episode Reviews

Welcome to Enchantment of Eternity. I’m Marc, and I’m on a mission to analyze every episode of the Star Trek Franchise. I started with The Original Series, and then moved on to The Next Generation, and now I’m covering Deep Space Nine and Voyager in order of airdate. It’s my mission statement to always give my honest opinion on each and every episode regardless of what the popular opinion is, so sometimes I have some hot takes. I prefer character based stories. I try to analyze the writing, acting, cinematography, and music of each episode, with emphasis on the writing. I explore themes and commentaries on the episode and give my opinion on whether or not it works, as well as explore some behind the scenes tidbits and trivia, and share my personal experience with the episode. We also hear from my patreon supporters and what they think of the episode. So check me out and give it a listen.

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine season 2 episode 15 "Paradise" explained. Join me as I review and recap the episode where Sisko and O'Brien get trapped on a planet where technology doesn't work that's run by a cult leader, who punishes and forbids them from looking for an escape. She's an insufferable "get off my screen" character, and it would be great to see her get her come upness but unfortunately the ending speeds through that so it's not nearly as satisfying as it could have been. Come see my first reaction as I breakdown the episode and attempt to give my in depth analysis

Join me as I review and recap an underrated gem of the seventh season that's an amazing character story following Data who lost all his memories of who he is and stumbles into a village on a planet with a pre-warp civilization and makes friends with a young girl. And is a beautiful character story that's unique to Trek.

Join me as I cover "Lower Decks" The episode NOT the show. However it was a great episode that inspired a whole Star Trek show, but also was an inspiration for many other shows in the modern era as well. As this was a masterpiece that follows 4 junior officers instead of our main characters, but they do it in such a way that is emotionally powerful, with a stand out ending that is one of the best of the show.

Join me as I review and recap one of the first real bonding episodes for Bashir and O'Brien that made them one of Trek's all time greatest bromances. However the episode itself is rather dull and forgettable, in fact I think this is one of the more forgettable episodes of Trek. Two people bonding while they're hiding out from bad guys, the main cast thinking characters are dead when they're not, and forgettable one off aliens we don't care about, these are standard Trek cliches that make for an ordinary episode

Join me as I review and recap a memorable prime directive episode where Picard is maybe a bit too rigid with the prime directive as he's willing to let an entire civilization die, but Worf's foster brother enacts a plan against orders to save a village of people by using the holodeck. It makes for an intriguing story with twists and turns as Worf and his brother work out their differences while trying to to trick a group of people that their still on their planet when really they're on the holodeck, which makes for one of the most ingenious uses of the holodeck in Trek.

Join me as I review and recap another "Odo finding out his origins" fake out as we think we found an evil shape shifter that's terrorizing the station, but turns out it was just a boring glop of goo that just died immeadiately and it was actually Odo who was terrorizing the station because he was effected by gas or something. But there is an interesting character story in here about Odo reconnecting with the scientists who studied him, and kind of raised him as an adoptive father and all the complex emotions that come with that, so that was good.

Join me as I review and recap the episode that brings in John Locke from "Lost" playing an evil admiral that used to be Riker's Commanding officer who is up to no good. A unique episode involving the Romulans and Riker dealing with his past that hits hard.
