Enchantment of Eternity’s Star Trek Episode Reviews
Welcome to Enchantment of Eternity. I’m Marc, and I’m on a mission to analyze every episode of the Star Trek Franchise. I started with The Original Series, and then moved on to The Next Generation, and now I’m covering Deep Space Nine and Voyager in order of airdate. It’s my mission statement to always give my honest opinion on each and every episode regardless of what the popular opinion is, so sometimes I have some hot takes. I prefer character based stories. I try to analyze the writing, acting, cinematography, and music of each episode, with emphasis on the writing. I explore themes and commentaries on the episode and give my opinion on whether or not it works, as well as explore some behind the scenes tidbits and trivia, and share my personal experience with the episode. We also hear from my patreon supporters and what they think of the episode. So check me out and give it a listen.

Star Trek: Generations movie explained. Join me as I review and recap this underrated movie that often gets more hate than it deserves. Sure the pacing is off, and more time should have been spent with Kirk and Picard together, and the ending where two old guys have a fist fight on top of a mountain with another old guy isn't the most satisfying, but there are some great character stories in here, some great acting, and the music is spectacular, and the humor works. There's a lot to be admired in this film, which is in my opinion better than "First Contact". Come see my first reaction as I breakdown the episode and attempt to give my in depth analysis

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Season 3 Episode 8 "Meridian" explained. Join me as I review and recap the episode where Dax has a fling with Goodwin from "Lost" and she wants to abandon all her friends and her entire life she knows for 60 years for this dude she just met, and barely has any chemistry with. So yes this story line sucks. But I must admit that I do really love the B plot about a filthy rich cretin trying to get Quark to make a personal Kira hologram for him to have his way with. There's some great character interactions between Kira and Odo, and the comedic timing in this is just perfect, and it's quite a predictive commentary on deep fakes, a topic that wouldn't really become a thing until several decades after this episode was made, so it kind of saves the episode for me. Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Season 3 Episode 7 "Civil Defense" explained. Join me as I review and recap this great character episode, that's intense and exciting and easily the best version of the disaster movie format that Star Trek has every done. You get some amazing moments with Dukat, this may in fact be the best Dukat episode. You get some great Garak moments, great Kira moments, and they even got Jake involved in the main plot for once. Just a great, fun, exciting episode. Come see my first reaction as I breakdown the episode and attempt to give my in depth analysis

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Season 3 Episode 6 "The Abandoned" explained. Join me as I review and recap the episode where Odo becomes a segregate father to a Jem'hadar baby, and it doesn't go the way he would hope. While I think this is a fascinating story line where we learn more about the Jem'hadar I'm not pleased with the ending that seems to imply people are irredeemable. Plus it seems like the easy and predictable way to go. There's also a side plot with Sisko trying to break up his son and a dabo girl, but then changing his mind when he learns more about his son, this was okay, as it furthers the Sisko / Jake relationship. Join me as I cover the episode where it's reveal Kira is a Cardassian! Not really though, it's just a plot by the Obsidian Order to expose a high ranking Cardassian Dissident. Which thank God! Can you imagine how terrible it would have been if they revealed Kira had been a Cardassian the whole time? Well apparently that's what some writers like Ronald D. Moore wanted. However this episode is note worthy for it's great Garak performance. We get a lot of great Garak lines in this episode for sure.

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Season 3 Episode 3 "Equilibrium" explained. Join me as I review and recap the episode where we get more back story on Jadzia Dax and Trill society. This is the first time we go to Trill and find out about a dirty secret they've been keeping. It's a fascinating look at this society and explores Jadzia's background a lot more. We also get to see the Defiant being used for day to day trips which is a game changer for the show because it's no longer just about a station it's now about a station with their own star ship. Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Season 3 Episode 3 "House of Quark" explained. Join me as I review and recap the episode where Quark gets married to a Klingon and becomes the head of a Klingon house. It's a bit of a farce but it actually works as a light hearted character story, although there are some contrivances along the way. For the most part the comedic timing in the episode really works and it explores these two Star Trek races that get along the least in an interesting way. Join me as I cover the 2 parter that introduces the Defiant, which changes the whole game of the show. It also ushers in Season 3 a significant up tick in quality. And we get a huge revelation about Odo and learn more about the Dominion. The we get introduced to two new characters, one will stick around and the other won't. But more over the show starts doing a better job of presenting the crew of DS9 as a family. The two parter itself is pretty powerful although I wasn't the biggest fan of the gimmick of part 2, but still a great change of pace for the show
