Enchantment of Eternity’s Star Trek Episode Reviews
Welcome to Enchantment of Eternity. I’m Marc, and I’m on a mission to analyze every episode of the Star Trek Franchise. I started with The Original Series, and then moved on to The Next Generation, and now I’m covering Deep Space Nine and Voyager in order of airdate. It’s my mission statement to always give my honest opinion on each and every episode regardless of what the popular opinion is, so sometimes I have some hot takes. I prefer character based stories. I try to analyze the writing, acting, cinematography, and music of each episode, with emphasis on the writing. I explore themes and commentaries on the episode and give my opinion on whether or not it works, as well as explore some behind the scenes tidbits and trivia, and share my personal experience with the episode. We also hear from my patreon supporters and what they think of the episode. So check me out and give it a listen.

Join me as I review and recap one of Lwaxana Troi's best appearances as this episode isn't about her trying to find a husband but rather her using her diplomatic skills to assist a telepathic alien race that is not used to communicating verbally. But the crux of the episode is about her falling into a coma because of a past trauma that is revealed in a very emotional powerful way, that also gives as some back story that explains the character a little more.

Join me as I review and recap the episode where we get Melora, a character from a planet with low gravity meaning what we consider normal gravity is to crushing for her so she has to use a wheel chair to get around. This character was meant to be part of the main cast originally but was scraped because she was deemed as too expensive, but we do get her in this one episode, she was meant to be a reoccuring guest star but that never happened. She is portrayed somewhat realistically on how wheel chair bound people feel, as they don't like being talked down to or treated like invalids, however what isn't realistic is that this is supposed to be a Starfleet officer, and she doesn't seem to be familar with how Starfleet functions. And plus Julian gets in a romance with her while treating her, which is very unethical for a doctor to be dating his patient but that's never addressed. And there's a VERY throw away side plot of some guy trying to kill Quark that's so last minute and tacked on nobody cares.

Join me as I review and recap the episode where Garak and Gul Dukat return and it introduces their feud and its the episode were both of these characters really come in to their own. And it further dives into Bashir's character as his friendship with Garak takes him places. And of course it deals with the idea of an orphan being raised by a different alien race much like the TNG episode "Suddenly Human" but it has a very different outcome.

Join me as I review and recap this mind bindy and twisty dream episode that has a really creepy horror feel to it. It's not that beloved of an episode, but I have a soft spot for it, as I think the dream nature and theme of Data slowly losing his mind is extremely effective. And the horror elements really work including introducing interphasic organisms that are slowly consuming the crew: VERY creepy.

Join me as I review and recap this tense hostage situation episode, with the twist and the Trill has come to still Jadzia's symbiont. This is an underrated episode in my opinion, as it has great guest stars, great lines from Avery Brooks who hams it up in the best way possible, emotional scenes with Bashir and Jadzia, and a hostage situation that does a much better job than the TNG episode "Power Play" of being intense and engaging.

Join me as I review and recap this unremarkable two parter that's... fine, it's fine. We get to see Picard and Riker go undercover on a mercenary ship which is kind of cool except all the mercenaries act like Hollywood cliches of what the 80's thought outlaws are like, and Riker's acting is at its worst, and the leader of the mercenaries looks like the lead singer of White Snake. But hey, we get to see Data take command of the Enterprise for the bulk of the two parter so that's really cool!

Join me as I review and recap this forgettable episode where they introduce Geordi's mother all the sudden and expect us to feel some investment when she's gone missing, but we don't because it wasn't earned at all. Plus this episode plays on the VR crave of the 90's and is just dull. There are some good character moments with Data and Geordi's friendship so that's something.

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine season 2 episodes 1, 2, & 3 "The Homecoming", "The Circle", and "The Siege" otherwise known as "The Circle Trilogy" explained. Join me as I review and recap the first 3 parter in all of Star Trek. We explore a conflict on Bajor with an extremist group on Bajor known as The Circle. Kira rescues a Bajoran war hero from a Cardassian prison camp, and Sisko befriends him and relies on him to over come the attempted coup on Bajor, as they soon discover the Cardassians are behind the coup in attempt to get rid of the Federation so that they can retake Bajor. I love this three parter as the stakes are high and the character work is great.

Join me as I review and recap this bland episode that was supposed to be inspired by "Misery" where Picard is being held by a crazy woman obseessed with him, but it really fails at that, and instead is just the shuttle crash cliche that we've seen hundreds of times. And meanwhile there are ambassadors on the Enterprise acting weird, which can be funny at times but is mostly boring.
