The Collaborator DS9 Season 2, Episode 24

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine season 2 episode 24 "The Collaborator" explained. Join me as I review and recap the episode that explores the fine line between being a hero and war criminal and how that line is a lot more blurry than people think. Bariel is accused of being a Collaborator right before the election to determine the next Kai. Someone who worked for the Bajoran Government under the Occupation who are all seen as collaborators tries to return to Bajor. And Kira learns it was actually Kai Opaka and not Bariel who collaborated with the Cardassians in order to save thousands of lives. So it really blurs the line on what everyone KNOWS to be good and evil, and I love that. Also this is the episode Winn becomes Kai which will effect the rest of the series going forward. Crossover DS9 Season 2, Episode 23

Join me as I cover the first and best episode where DS9 crosses into the Mirror Universe. The Actors have a blast hamming it up, and we get an intense story of Kira and Bashir trying to escape an upside down hellscape. Nana Visitor shines as playing duel roles of Kira and the evil messed up Intendant. Kira as to come face to face with a version of herself who is just like Gul Dukat, she embodies everything she despises, this makes for a fascinating episode.

As his life is threatened because he left on a pleasure giving device that was never meant for continuos use, and Bashir struggles to save his life. Emergence TNG Season 7, Episode 23

Star Trek: The Next Generation Season 7 Episodes 23 "Emergence" explained. Join me as I review and recap the episode with a ridiculous premise that the Enterprise becomes alive, the purpose of this life is apparently to create another life form but we never find out why this happened of what kind of life form the Enterprise created. This episode is just an excuse to do holodeck shenanigans, because the holodeck is the Enterprise's dreams or whatever so Troi, Data and Worf go into the holodeck to try to interpret what's going on and it's a bunch of ridiculous metaphors that just come off as cheesy. Bloodlines TNG Season 7, Episode 22

Star Trek: The Next Generation Season 7 Episodes 22 "Bloodlines" explained. Join me as I review and recap the episode that shouldn't exist because they is literally no reason for it. We bring back Bok from the episode "The Battle" which was not a good episode, and he's played by a totally different actor, and there seems to be no reason to bring back this lack luster villain other than to introduce Picard's son that he didn't know he had. But as it turns out it's not his son, he's just a terrible actor. So why bother with this episode, why? The Maquis Parts 1 & 2, DS9 Season 2 Episodes 20 & 21

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine season 2 episode 20 & 21 "The Maquis Parts 1 & 2" explained. Join me as I review and recap the two parter that introduces the Maquis. We got a great guest star and a tragic relationship as Sisko needs to turn on his friend. We have a great political intrigue episode, and a story where the line between right and wrong is blurred. However I don't think that Maquis have a righteous cause because they live in a post scarcity society and so could have all the resources they want if they simply move. And these episode over power the Cardassains portraying them as too invincible to the point where they can block mind melds (lol) and the Federation renegades are portrayed as incompetent when they shouldn't be. Plus the final battle is really boring, so not the best 2 parter ever. Come see my first reaction as I breakdown the episode and attempt to give my in depth analysis

Firstborn TNG Season 7, Episode 21

Star Trek: The Next Generation Season 7 Episodes 21 "Firstborn" explained. Join me as I review and recap the episode that makes Worf a good father, as it explores Worf trying to convince Alexander to undertake his journey to become a warrior. At his side is a warrior from the house of Mogh who seems to be able to connect to Alexander. However a great twist ending explains why that is, and makes Worf realize he shouldn't push him to become something he doesn't want to be. Blood Oath, DS9 Season 2, Episode 19

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine season 2 episode 19 "Blood Oath" explained. Join me as I review and recap the episode known for bring back 3 Klingon characters portrayed by their original actors from The Original Series. It is over hyped because this, as all TOS crossovers tend to be, but still a decent episode, maybe spends too much time on the whether or not Dax can come and not enough time establishing the antagonist, but still some good character moments.
