Enchantment of Eternity’s Star Trek Episode Reviews

Welcome to Enchantment of Eternity. I’m Marc, and I’m on a mission to analyze every episode of the Star Trek Franchise. I started with The Original Series, and then moved on to The Next Generation, and now I’m covering Deep Space Nine and Voyager in order of airdate. It’s my mission statement to always give my honest opinion on each and every episode regardless of what the popular opinion is, so sometimes I have some hot takes. I prefer character based stories. I try to analyze the writing, acting, cinematography, and music of each episode, with emphasis on the writing. I explore themes and commentaries on the episode and give my opinion on whether or not it works, as well as explore some behind the scenes tidbits and trivia, and share my personal experience with the episode. We also hear from my patreon supporters and what they think of the episode. So check me out and give it a listen.

Join me as I review and recap this Klingon episode, which is one of the most Klingony, Klingon episode that ever Klingoned. It's an interesting analogy to what if technology could clone Jesus, but this time it's of course Klingon Jesus. It's like Jurassic Park, but instead of bringing back Dinosaurs that kill everyone it's Klingon Jesus who tries to seize power and almost starts a civil war. Only Worf can prevent one. This episode is fine, one thing I can definitely say about is, it certainly exists.

Join us as this episode is explained, and we give our recap and review of this classic Bashir episode, where he is faced with a medical puzzle he can't solve in a society that has grown used to death and disease that they lost all hope.

Join me as I review and recap this very boring episode where Kira is duped by a grump old man. This cantankerous old guy refuses to leave his home holding up a project that could provide energy for millions of cold, starving people on Bajor, just because he doesn't want to relocate, and Kira for some (out of character) reason humors him, instead of simply beaming him up. And she risks her career over this until Sisko talks some sense into her, which was the one good scene in the episode.

Join me as I review and recap this terrible attempt at doing a Noir type murder mystery with Doctor Crusher in the role of the investigator. The problem is, they try too hard and the Noir themes don't jive with the Star Trek setting, as the dialog is forced and out of place and doesn't seem right coming from these characters we know and love, and Gates McFadden's acting is sadly not up to the task.

Join me as I review and recap this silly episode that was originally written for Season 1 of TNG and it shows. Has O'Brien and Bashir deal with a Bajoran village whose collective imaginations create a monster that only the Storyteller can defeat. However we do get the origins of the O'Brien and Bashir friendship and their chemistry in this episode works. But more importantly we get a really good B plot with Jake and Nog crushing on a young woman who is a leader of her own village who is in negotiations to prevent a war.

Join me as I cover one of the best episodes of Star Trek where Riker starts to lost his mind, in a mind bendy, twisty story where he keeps bouncing back and forth between being a commander on the Enterprise and being a patient in a mental institution, one of my all time favorites.

Join me as I review and recap this underrated episode that features Mike from Breaking Bad himself: Jonathan Banks as he gives a great performance as a member of a 90's biker gang who is at perpetual war with another biker gang. This episode actually features some powerful classic Trek commentary on the futility of war, but also some shady acting from Nana Visitor, but still a powerful episode.

Join me as I review and recap this episode with Klingons, Cardassians, Romulans, oh my! Picard's old mentor comes aboard gives him a priceless artifact he probably robbed from another culture's heritage and then promptly dies, leaving Picard to go on a quest to solve this genetic puzzle that's millions of years old.

. Join me as I review and recap this fairly interesting episode about Odo going on an adventure with a conman who turns out to have noble intentions, as Odo is searching for a link to his origins. While that story is engaging, the characters aren't really introduced properly, the threat of the week is kind of cliche, and Quark comes off as more of a villain than he should, so it's not without its flaws

Join me as I review and recap this character based romance, as Picard falls deeply in love with a woman he connects with on a deep level, the problem: she's under his command. This episode portrays a powerful and emotional romance that is great for building Picard's character, but unfortunately this is undermined by the fact this ends up being just another romance of the week, as we'll never see Lt. Cmdr. Darrin again.
