Enchantment of Eternity’s Star Trek Episode Reviews
Welcome to Enchantment of Eternity. I’m Marc, and I’m on a mission to analyze every episode of the Star Trek Franchise. I started with The Original Series, and then moved on to The Next Generation, and now I’m covering Deep Space Nine and Voyager in order of airdate. It’s my mission statement to always give my honest opinion on each and every episode regardless of what the popular opinion is, so sometimes I have some hot takes. I prefer character based stories. I try to analyze the writing, acting, cinematography, and music of each episode, with emphasis on the writing. I explore themes and commentaries on the episode and give my opinion on whether or not it works, as well as explore some behind the scenes tidbits and trivia, and share my personal experience with the episode. We also hear from my patreon supporters and what they think of the episode. So check me out and give it a listen.

Join me as I review and recap the episode modeled after a typical disaster movie, as different groups of people are trapped in different parts of the ship when a disaster hits. And it does play off as a by the numbers disaster flick, so it's okay, we get some funny moments with Worf having to deliver Keiko's baby, Picard is forced to deal with children, Crusher and Geaodi have to try to not die in the cargo bay, and Riker takes Data's head as an accessory. But the main plot that saves this episode for me is the one where Troi has to take command of the bridge with O'Brien and Ro arguing over what plan they need to do to save the ship, by far the most interesting storyline of the episode.

Join me as I review and recap this criminally underrated episode that sees the return of the Crystalline Entity; a cheesy two dimensional monster from Season 1, yet this episode somehow manages to build a complex and dramatic story of revenge and hatred vs. understanding and communication around it. Most impressive. Plus this is an excellent Data story as he enables a mother's grief and it consumes her.

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine season 2 episode 9 "Second Sight" explained. Join me as I review and recap this terrible romance of the week episode. With a romance so terrible and with zero chemistry you absolutely don't buy it. And also there's a sci-fi about an unhappy house wife psycho-projecting a person that Sisko has a fling with that makes zero sense when you think about it and is just a bunch of plot contrivances. But there are some good character moments with Sisko and Jake and Sisko and Dax and it introduces an eccentric terraformer who is somewhat interesting as well, so not a total loss. Star Trek: The Next Generation Season 7 Episodes 10 "Inheritance" explained. Join me as I review and recap another episode in season 7 where an unexpected family member turns up, this time it's Data's mother, making Data the character whose family is explored the most. While the writers do they damnedest to fit this into canon it always feels out of place and a last minute add on that they crammed in there, and it is completely unnecessary to Data's over all story. That being said, there are some good character moments in this episode for Data, so it's not a total loss. Join me as I review and recap the episode that introduces us to the Bajorans and establishes the Cardassians as a reoccurring alien. And of course we get introduced to the title character of Ensign Ro, and excellent character that they should have used more, and this was a great introduction to her. It's an interesting enough political thriller with intrigue and commentary on present day and historical examples of an entire peoples being displaced.

Join me as I cover the classic episode where Picard must struggle to communicate with a strange alien captain that communicates only through metaphors. An overrated episode that's not nearly as good as everyone makes it out to be, but still a really good episode, even though that language is so unrealistic and unpractical.

Join me as I review and recap the two part cliff hanger that ends season 4 and starts season 5, and is the follow up to Worf's discommendation story line as seen in "Sins of the Father" and "Reunion". This is a fairly interesting follow up as we meet Lursa and B'etor and get a full on Klingon Civil War. Although it has a terrible cliff hanger about Alternate Yar's Romulan daughter, which takes up too much time and interferes with the storyline in part 2, plus we get a ridiculous story line where Data takes command of a ship and his first officer is a total bigot.

Join me as I review and recap this episode that has a good concept about Data getting into a romance, but they completely botch it. It was handled much better in the episode "Ensigns of Command" but unfortunately didn't take it far enough. This episode on the other hand portrays Data as a dumb robot, and it regresses his character growth back to season 1 for the sake of humor. It started out good, but quickly goes downhill about half way through the episode, what a disappointment.

Join me as I cover the episode where Geordi is brainwashed by the Romulans and given the Manchurian Candidate treatment. Meanwhile Picard speaks the lies of a TAR"KET!
