Enchantment of Eternity’s Star Trek Episode Reviews
Welcome to Enchantment of Eternity. I’m Marc, and I’m on a mission to analyze every episode of the Star Trek Franchise. I started with The Original Series, and then moved on to The Next Generation, and now I’m covering Deep Space Nine and Voyager in order of airdate. It’s my mission statement to always give my honest opinion on each and every episode regardless of what the popular opinion is, so sometimes I have some hot takes. I prefer character based stories. I try to analyze the writing, acting, cinematography, and music of each episode, with emphasis on the writing. I explore themes and commentaries on the episode and give my opinion on whether or not it works, as well as explore some behind the scenes tidbits and trivia, and share my personal experience with the episode. We also hear from my patreon supporters and what they think of the episode. So check me out and give it a listen.

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Season 6 Episode 15 "Honor Among Thieves" explained. Join me as I review and recap an episode where we follow O'Brien undercover inflitrating the Orion Syndicate for some reason. Why are we following the Orion Syndicate when the Dominion war is going on? And why don't we see any actually Orions in the Orion Syndicate? Who knows. But hey, a Vorta shows up and is working with the Orion Syndicate, uh UH? But it seems to me the writers just felt the urge to do their own version of "Donnie Brasco", don't ask me why. Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Season 6 Episode 14 "One Little Ship" explained. Join me as I review and recap an episode with a creative idea that sounds like it could be good, but is executed poorly. The majority of the episode focuses on the split between new Jem'hadar born in the Alpha Quadrant: Alphas and the old Gammas. And this dispute comes off as cartoonish, and silly as the Alphas are obviously being incompetent and making stupid mistakes. And this episode employs the trope which I can't stand of Sisko and crew taking advantage of this incompetence to retake the ship. The shrunken runabout isn't really used that much or that well. Star Trek: Voyager Season 4 Episode 15 "Hunters" explained. Join me as I review and recap the episode that was marketed as the big introduction to the "Predator" like hunting aliens: The Hirogen, but really it's a powerful character piece on the crew receiving letters from home for the first time. While the Hirogen story is okay, and not that remarkable, because of the title it can make one forget that it's just the B plot, and the main focus on the crew receiving letters is very powerful indeed. Join me as I cover the classic episode that sees Sisko have a vision where the DS9 crew are human sci fi writers in the 60's as it makes some poignant commentary on racism.

Star Trek: Voyager Season 4 Episode 14 "Message in a Bottle" explained. Join me as I review and recap an overrated comedy episode, I mean it's good but no where near top 5 best of the show good, I mean come on. That being said, it is a watershed episode for the series as it's the first time Voyager officially makes contact with Starfleet. And the chemistry and comedic timing between Robert Picardo and guest star Andy Dick is done really well. The problem is having the Romulans be the villains doesn't actually make sense for the time line. It would have made way more sense for it to be Cardassians, given that at this time the Federation is at war with the Cardassians and they've been a major villain on Voyager in the past, so it seems to me the only reason it was the Romulans was TNG fan service and that's not a good reason at all. Join me as I cover the episode rightfully portrayed Dukat as the truly evil character he always was. And they try to recapture the intense dynamic of "Duet" but don't quite get there, but 'A' for effort.
