Enchantment of Eternity’s Star Trek Episode Reviews

Welcome to Enchantment of Eternity. I’m Marc, and I’m on a mission to analyze every episode of the Star Trek Franchise. I started with The Original Series, and then moved on to The Next Generation, and now I’m covering Deep Space Nine and Voyager in order of airdate. It’s my mission statement to always give my honest opinion on each and every episode regardless of what the popular opinion is, so sometimes I have some hot takes. I prefer character based stories. I try to analyze the writing, acting, cinematography, and music of each episode, with emphasis on the writing. I explore themes and commentaries on the episode and give my opinion on whether or not it works, as well as explore some behind the scenes tidbits and trivia, and share my personal experience with the episode. We also hear from my patreon supporters and what they think of the episode. So check me out and give it a listen.

Join me as I cover one of the worst episodes of the show where Lwaxana goes around the ship sexually harassing all the men instead of you know, going somewhere where men are actually interested in her. And this is supposed to be funny?!

Join me as I cover this terrible episode that insluts the Irish with cliche stereotypes and the whole episode was just a collection of scenes that are loosely related. And there's some clones where Picard leaves them all to die, and is shocked when they try to steal their DNA by force.

Join me for the episode that introduces the Pakled a group of less than intelligent aliens that pretend to need help but use it as an opportunity to take Geordi captive in a attempt to gain superior technology. While Picard takes a shuttle trip with Wesley. This is a much hated episode, but I think it's... fine. It's fine.

Join me as I cover the first introduction of the Borg! An episode that's a fan favorite, but it's no favorite of mine, in fact I think this episode is overrated. Not for the Borg stuff which is sufficiently creepy and ominous, but  for the Q stuff which simply did that not. Q seemed unnecessary plot and having him there was a terrible way to introduce the Borg. And I don't buy Picard was being arrogant and needed to be taught a lessons, because it's not that he thought he couldn't handle the Borg, it's that he didn't trust Q, and he was %1,000 correct/

Join me as I cover the episode where Data makes friends with a young girl from a pre-warp civilization that's on a planet that is doomed. But we don't care about this friendship because it takes place entirely off screen, so the starfleet officer sit around debating the prime directive, and Picard decides to uphold the prime directive and orders Data to cut off contact with the young girl, but then Picard hears her call for help so he changes his mind. Not because he knew that a civilization of millions were about to die but because of one young girl calling out to Data. I'm sorry but that's not a good reason. Saving millions is a good reason, but because Data befriended a young girl, not a good reason. Anyway this episode is indicative to me of the bad writing that plagues season 2.

Join me as I cover a very boring episode where Riker's dad comes onboard and he's a giant arrogant prick and Riker acts like a goth teenager who refuses to talk to his dad, while he prepares for a command which he obviously is going to turn down. And Worf is sad because he can't do a ritual where Klingons torture him with pain sticks, but Wesley makes a holodeck program for him which somehow includes John Tesh from Entertainment Tonight.

Join me as I cover this episode which has an amazing premise of the Enterprise encountering a duplicate shuttle with another Captain Picard from 6 hours in the future on board, and logs that show the destruction of the Enterprise. A fascinating premise, but unfortunately they don't do much with it, and the episode ends up being rather simplistic and it's mostly tone. But the tone is successful mostly due to amazing music, so it's still a fairly good episode.

Join me as I cover this much reviled episode that a lot of people hate with a passion, and I think is okay. It's not a masterpiece by any stretch of the imagination but I thought it was kind of interesting, it's a fascinating premise where these aliens saved a human astronaught centuries ago and created an enivorment for them based of a bad novel. And yeah the reasons Worf, Riker, and Data become trapped there and how they get out are contrived as hell, but it's still a fun episode to watch that is eerie at times when it needs to be.

Join me as I cover the episode where the solution is something that every IT personnel suggests repeatedly: just turn the computer off and back on again. But it's an interesting episode about the Enteprise getting a computer virus, that also includes a story about a chase between the Romulans to discover a world of an ancient long dead empire which may contain technology that's far beyond what Starfleet and the Romulans possession. It's a fascinating and intense episode that in my opinion is a little under rated.
