Enchantment of Eternity’s Star Trek Episode Reviews

Welcome to Enchantment of Eternity. I’m Marc, and I’m on a mission to analyze every episode of the Star Trek Franchise. I started with The Original Series, and then moved on to The Next Generation, and now I’m covering Deep Space Nine and Voyager in order of airdate. It’s my mission statement to always give my honest opinion on each and every episode regardless of what the popular opinion is, so sometimes I have some hot takes. I prefer character based stories. I try to analyze the writing, acting, cinematography, and music of each episode, with emphasis on the writing. I explore themes and commentaries on the episode and give my opinion on whether or not it works, as well as explore some behind the scenes tidbits and trivia, and share my personal experience with the episode. We also hear from my patreon supporters and what they think of the episode. So check me out and give it a listen.

Join me as I cover the pilot episode of the Next Generation and much like season 1 of TNG over all, it's not very good, and extremely cheesy with bad dialog and a plot that's stretched way too thin.

Join me as I cover "The One with the Whales". The most popular Star Trek movie that's a classic 80's comedy with a fish out of water story of 23rd Century Starfleet officers trying to survive 1986's San Francisco

Join me as I cover the movie where Spock is brought back to life and that's not a spoiler it's in the title. But seriously, this is a criminally under rated film, and disproves the false myth that only the even numbered Star Trek movies are good because this movie features Kirk defying orders, risking his career, being chased by Starfleet, and eventually kicking a Christopher Lloyd Klingon off a cliff while yelling "I have had enough of YOU!" how is this not amazing? But seriously I think this is the 2nd best Star Trek movie ever made.

Join me as I cover the movie that's generally considered the best Star Trek movie ever made and for good reason. This is one of best movies of the 80's as it's a classic submarine esque swashbuckling space opera adventure with some great character stories and one of the most powerful endings ever made.

Join me as I cover this incredibly boring movie that was the result of a failed rushed production, where the script was being written as they were filming, and the studio wanted to make Star Wars and the director wanted to make 2001: A Space Odyssey and no one wanted to just make Star Trek. Although in recent years its become HIP to think this movie is great and artsy but I'm not falling for that.

Join me as I cover episode 5 "How Sharper than a Serpent's Tooth" and episode 6 "The Counter Clock Incident" of Season 2 of Star Trek: The Animated Series. One is an episode with the first major Native American in Starfleet and centered around a Native American mythological figure, but is essentially your stereotypical TOS angry powerful God stereotype and the other is a great concept episode that works really well in a cartoon format about a universe where time moves backwards.

Join me as I cover episode 3 "The Practical Joker" and episode 4 "Albatross" of Season 2 of Star Trek: The Animated Series. One is a silly episode where the ship becomes a prankster, and it features a holodeck (a real cartoon episode) and the other is actually an intriguing character story and a mystery with a pandemic at the heart of it. This episode is worthy of a live action treatment.
