Enchantment of Eternity’s Star Trek Episode Reviews
Welcome to Enchantment of Eternity. I’m Marc, and I’m on a mission to analyze every episode of the Star Trek Franchise. I started with The Original Series, and then moved on to The Next Generation, and now I’m covering Deep Space Nine and Voyager in order of airdate. It’s my mission statement to always give my honest opinion on each and every episode regardless of what the popular opinion is, so sometimes I have some hot takes. I prefer character based stories. I try to analyze the writing, acting, cinematography, and music of each episode, with emphasis on the writing. I explore themes and commentaries on the episode and give my opinion on whether or not it works, as well as explore some behind the scenes tidbits and trivia, and share my personal experience with the episode. We also hear from my patreon supporters and what they think of the episode. So check me out and give it a listen.

Join me as I cover episode 3 "The Practical Joker" and episode 4 "Albatross" of Season 2 of Star Trek: The Animated Series. One is a silly episode where the ship becomes a prankster, and it features a holodeck (a real cartoon episode) and the other is actually an intriguing character story and a mystery with a pandemic at the heart of it. This episode is worthy of a live action treatment.

Join me as I cover episode 1 "The Pirates of Orion" and episode 2 "Bem" of Season 2 of Star Trek: The Animated Series. One is my favorite episode of the Animated Series, as it's a great character story for Kirk as he's willing to go head to head with Orion pirates in order to save Spock's life, and he using his wits to defeat them. If only anyone could pronounce "Orion" correctly. The other is one of my least favorite episodes of The Animated Series the features a silly and annoying character who messes with Kirk for no good reason. And Kirk purposely angers a powerful nature God by doing the one thing he was told not to do, and yet somehow still gets away with it.

Join me as I cover episode 15 "Eye of the Beholder" and Episode 16 "The Jihad" of Season 1 of Star Trek: The Animated Series. One is a typical "put humans in a zoo" episode the other is not really a Star Trek episode and more of a Dungeons and Dragons adventure with shades of Johnny Quest, they just shoe horn Kirk and Spock into it.

Join me as I cover episode 13 "The Ambergris Element" and episode 14 "The Slaver Weapon" of Season 1 of Star Trek: The Animated Series. Two action adventure episodes that don't really go any where. One is an episode about an under water civilization that sounds like an interesting idea but essentially becomes an episode of Kirk and Spock running from a sea monster. And the other introduces a comically bad race of silly villains, but at least gives Sulu and Uhura more to do.

Join me as I cover episode 11 "The Terratin Incident" and episode 12 "The Time Trap" of Season 1 of Star Trek: The Animated Series. Two episodes with interesting concepts but don't live up to that full potential. One is a concept episode about the crew becoming small that has shades of "Wink of an Eye", and the other is a Bermuda Triangle type story that spends too much time on a Klingon feud that deflates the episode.

Join me as I cover episode 9 "Once Upon a Planet" and Episode 10 "Mudd's Passion" of Season 1 of Star Trek: The Animated Series. One episode is a sequel to "Shore Leave" and the other is a contination of the character of Harry Mudd, and both episodes are terrible. I never liked "Shore Leave" and this episode is even worse. And I never liked Harry Mudd, and this is probably his worst appearance, as they completely destroy Nurse Chapel's character as she is swindled by Harry Mudd over the prospect of him forcing Spock to love her against his will. Not a good episode.

Join me as I cover episode 7 "The Infinite Vulcan" and episode 8 "The Magiks of Megas-Tu" of Season 1 of Star Trek: The Animated Series. One is an episode where some giant alien creates a giant clone of Spock and the other is where the Enterprise travels to a planet with the devil and all sorts of other demons, and both episodes are absolutely terrible.

Join me as I cover episode 5 "More Tribbles, More Trouble" and episode 6 "The Survivor" of Season 1 of Star Trek: The Animated Series. One is an episode that's a sequel to "The Trouble with Tribbles". Where the tribbles are back but instead of reproducing like mad, they grow really big instead, which is most silly and not in a good way. The other is a great episode that has very mature themes about a shape shifter who tricks the crew in thinking he is a long lost famous philamprothist. He's working for The Romulans but in the end can't bring himself to destroy the Enterprise crew.

Join me as I cover episode 3 "One of our Planets is Missing", and episode 4 "The Lorelei Signal" of Season 1 of Star Trek: The Animated Series. One episode has a silly title, but actually is a very serious and dire episode for a kid's show. The other is a great character story for Uhura and a good use of the women of the Enterprise has they are forced to take over when all the men become incapacitated.
