Enchantment of Eternity’s Star Trek Episode Reviews

Welcome to Enchantment of Eternity. I’m Marc, and I’m on a mission to analyze every episode of the Star Trek Franchise. I started with The Original Series, and then moved on to The Next Generation, and now I’m covering Deep Space Nine and Voyager in order of airdate. It’s my mission statement to always give my honest opinion on each and every episode regardless of what the popular opinion is, so sometimes I have some hot takes. I prefer character based stories. I try to analyze the writing, acting, cinematography, and music of each episode, with emphasis on the writing. I explore themes and commentaries on the episode and give my opinion on whether or not it works, as well as explore some behind the scenes tidbits and trivia, and share my personal experience with the episode. We also hear from my patreon supporters and what they think of the episode. So check me out and give it a listen.

Join me as I cover the classic meeting of the Tholians and their energy web. Their very unique aliens that I wish we saw more of. And we get 3 intense plots that all build off each other as Kirk is lost and a strange space while the crew starts going mad. And on top of that we get a good character story between Spock and McCoy so a strong episode.

Join me as I cover this polarizing episode that some people hate, others love, and I think is just okay. It's mostly boring, but does have some good moments for the trio of main characters, and some really creepy horror scenes, but it does drag a bit, and the plot of story doesn't make all that much sense.

Join me as I cover the episode where we're introduced to Medusans, and strange alien race that makes humanoids go mad if they look upon them. It's an interesting concept, and it features a woman who is immune to Kirk's charms which is unique to TOS. But some of the things that happen in the episode are a bit silly and the plot structure of the episode isn't that great. But still an interesting watch.

Join me as I cover this infamous episode, known by many as the worst Star Trek episode ever made. Is it as bad as all that? Not in my humble opinion. It comes off as kind of a kids cartoon plot, and if you look at it from that perspective it's actually not that bad. Not saying it's great, but I think the Original Series has done much worse.

Join me as I cover this most panned episode, which I don't like, it's definitely not good, but I don't think it's quite as bad as most people seem to. It deals with trauma of kids having lost their families and are suppressing that trauma, and it deals with the exploitation of children in situations like child armies. But yeah, it is annoying and poorly acted, and the sci-fi elements come off as silly, so as I said not a good episode.

Join me as I cover this decent episode of espionage and deceit, as Kirk and Spock play a game with the Romulans in an attempt to steal a cloaking device. It's a good episode, but maybe a bit overrated, as it's thought of very fondly, but I do think it has its flaws and the romance between Spock and the Romulan Commander really doesn't do it for me.

Join me as I cover this episode that didn't age too well, as it portrays Native Americans as incredibly savage, ignorant and naive as they mistake Kirk for a God. And we also get a cliche amnesia story line with Kirk falling in love in romance that's flat uninteresting and boring, and Shatner over acts the hell out of it.

Join me as I cover this ridiculous episode about an arranged marriage, and a leader who doesn't want to be forced into this marriage against her will, and Kirk calls her a spoiled brat because of it. Then there's some dumb plot about love potion or something, who cares?

Join me as I cover this episode that people only like because it's a western but really it makes no sense. Kirk decides to defy the prime directive and defy the wishes of a sovereign state because he's going to make first contact with them, WHETHER THEY LIKE IT OR NOT! And instead of just killing them the aliens make them realize the OK corral and when Spock cheats by using telepathy that some how proves to these aliens that they're a-okay.

Join me as I cover this terrible episode which was just an excuse for Gene Roddenberry to sneak in a pilot for a terrible Get Smart / Mission Impossible type sci-fi show. And in order to do this, he has to shoe horn this idea into Star Trek by making the Enterprise travel back to the 20th Century FOR NO REASON. And then Kirk and Spock proceed to be bystanders in the episode as they're just there to justify this being a Star Trek episode.
