Enchantment of Eternity’s Star Trek Episode Reviews

Welcome to Enchantment of Eternity. I’m Marc, and I’m on a mission to analyze every episode of the Star Trek Franchise. I started with The Original Series, and then moved on to The Next Generation, and now I’m covering Deep Space Nine and Voyager in order of airdate. It’s my mission statement to always give my honest opinion on each and every episode regardless of what the popular opinion is, so sometimes I have some hot takes. I prefer character based stories. I try to analyze the writing, acting, cinematography, and music of each episode, with emphasis on the writing. I explore themes and commentaries on the episode and give my opinion on whether or not it works, as well as explore some behind the scenes tidbits and trivia, and share my personal experience with the episode. We also hear from my patreon supporters and what they think of the episode. So check me out and give it a listen.

Join me as I cover this boring and failed attempt at a Vietnam War analogy that doesn't actually work in Star Trek, and has some incredibly hooky and ridiculous scenes.

Join me as I cover this classic episode of TOS where we meets Sarek and Amanda; Spock's parents, while their on a diplomatic mission with Andorians, Tellarites, and Vulcans oh my. The party is then crashed by Orion pirates that kill one of the delegates and then make a failed attempt on Kirk's life, and then try to destroy the Enterprise. And while I don't love this episode as much as everyone else, I do really enjoy it, and it is one of the better episodes of Season 2.

Join me as I cover the episode where the enterprise travels off to the far, far distant alien world, that's exactly like Rome but in the 20th century. No I mean EXACTLY like Roma, they even call themselves Romans. GAH! Besides that, this episode is kind of bland and the end reveal is stupid, but it's not the worst thing in the world.

Join me as I cover one of the most overrated episodes in all of Trek, people just love the cute balls of fur that purr, who cares if the plot is kind of trite and the Klingons come off as cartoon characters, those tribbles are just so gosh darn cute. But to be fair I think this episode is fairly amusing, and I do like the character interactions between the crew, not something we normally get outside the big 3.

Join me as I cover the return of Harry Mudd, the most unfunny and annoying character in the original series so OF COURSE they had to bring him back, however this episode isn't so bad, certainly not as bad as his first outing. But it's mostly silly about these android to take over the galaxy but they all short circuit when the crew starts doing improve in front of them. That tracks, I hat improve too.

Join me as I cover this high concept episode of members of the crew growing old, but the majority of the episode deals with a trial to determine Kirk's fitness for command which he obviously isn't where Kirk acts completely absurd. On top of that we get an idiotic Commodore taking over the ship where he clearly could have given it to Sulu, and instead nearly gets the ship destroyed because he's stupid.

Join me as I cover this very classic episode that shaped science fiction for years to come, I mean how many times have we've seen a character in fiction with a goatee to signify their from an evil universe. This episode absolutely holds up as it creates and maintains a sense of high tension as Kirk and his landing party literally are in a nightmare.

Join me as I cover the ultimate red shirt episode. Red shirts are killed by lightening, killed by exploding rocks, killed by poisonous flowers shooting at them, and my personal favorite, killed by unskilled village people hitting them in the back with a stick. And on top of that we get yet another boring super computer that controls people *yawn*

Join me as I cover this amazing episode where Kike logics a super computer to death but in an awesome way. This is a high stakes, high tension, edge of your seat episode, that ups the stake in an amazing way.
