Enchantment of Eternity’s Star Trek Episode Reviews
Welcome to Enchantment of Eternity. I’m Marc, and I’m on a mission to analyze every episode of the Star Trek Franchise. I started with The Original Series, and then moved on to The Next Generation, and now I’m covering Deep Space Nine and Voyager in order of airdate. It’s my mission statement to always give my honest opinion on each and every episode regardless of what the popular opinion is, so sometimes I have some hot takes. I prefer character based stories. I try to analyze the writing, acting, cinematography, and music of each episode, with emphasis on the writing. I explore themes and commentaries on the episode and give my opinion on whether or not it works, as well as explore some behind the scenes tidbits and trivia, and share my personal experience with the episode. We also hear from my patreon supporters and what they think of the episode. So check me out and give it a listen.

Join me as I cover this terrible episode where it doubles down on the cliche of a main character being falsely accused of a crime they didn't commit, and throws in a little misogyny for good measure. And the final revelation on who the killer is, is so ridiculous I think it under sells it to say its cartoonish.

Join me as I cover this classic episode which I can dig, maybe not as much as everyone else, but it's got some great suspense, some great action scenes. The Doomsday Machine seems a bit of a percursor to the Borg, and it evokes that same kind of sense of dread, so that works. Spock should have relieved Commodore Decker of duty immediately and Doctor McCoy could have certified him as unfit later, and the only reason he didn't was so the episode could happen. But other than that was pretty excited.

Join me as a cover this classic episode with the introduction of the planet Vulcan, with the Pon Farr, the fighting, and the fight music that gets stuck in your head. This episode may not be as good as everyone says it is, but it's still pretty good. I love the editing and production value of the fight scene it does put you in the mind set of someone losing their minds, but there's a lot of contrivance that needs to happened in this episode in order for the plot to unfold as it does, and that sticks in my craw a bit.

Join me as I cover this silly episode where the Enterprise encounters a giant hand in space that grabs the ship, and it turns out its coming from the God Apollo. Thank God this isn't Modern Trek with all it's silliness, isn't it so much better in the good ol' days to have more realistic and grounded storylines like this. Anyway, the episode is kind of boring, and silly and Roddenberry as an obsession with God like aliens for some reason.

Join me as I cover this poor attempt to make commentary on the Vietnam War, which just comes off to me as a typical 60's Western or attempt to appeal to western audiences, as the aliens are obviously meant to come off as Native Americans. And it's mostly just boring with some cringy scenes with McCoy slapping a pregnant woman because she asked him not to touch her.

Join me as I cover this nice little romance episode where we get the introduction of Zefram Cochrane and he's not a drunk. It's kind of the shuttle crash cliche, but it actually works, as the storyline with "the Companion" is a fascinating sci-fi concept, and it ends up being a heart warming love story.

Join me as I cover this terrible, cheesy and outdated Halloween episode, that can be funny on a so bad its good level as the green screen work with the giant cat attacking Kirk and Spock is laughable bad. So BEWARE of this episode because it sucks.

Come join me as I cover the season 1 finale of The Original Series, which is quite frankly boring sci-fi schlock, as we get introduced to flying jelly fish, and Spock as a magical second eye lid that he just plumb forgot about.

Join me as I cover this classic episode of Trek that uses time travel in one of the best ways possible, as it transends just Star Trek and is one of the best time travel stories every told, as Kirk falls in love but is then forced to make a hard choice in order to protect the future of the human race.

Join me as I cover the first introduction of the Klingons into Star Trek. In this episode about the horrors of war, and how it should be avoided at all costs. This episode is brilliant as it uses the strange sci-fi of Trek to convey a powerful message about the importance of peace.
