Enchantment of Eternity’s Star Trek Episode Reviews

Welcome to Enchantment of Eternity. I’m Marc, and I’m on a mission to analyze every episode of the Star Trek Franchise. I started with The Original Series, and then moved on to The Next Generation, and now I’m covering Deep Space Nine and Voyager in order of airdate. It’s my mission statement to always give my honest opinion on each and every episode regardless of what the popular opinion is, so sometimes I have some hot takes. I prefer character based stories. I try to analyze the writing, acting, cinematography, and music of each episode, with emphasis on the writing. I explore themes and commentaries on the episode and give my opinion on whether or not it works, as well as explore some behind the scenes tidbits and trivia, and share my personal experience with the episode. We also hear from my patreon supporters and what they think of the episode. So check me out and give it a listen.

Join me as a cover the first and only two parter in TOS, the episode that saves the studio money because the reuse footage from the unaired first pilot, and thus you have an episode of the crew sitting down to watch another episode of Star Trek. But the Cage is a good episode, and the mutiny storyline where Spock goes to bat for his former Captain is quite good, but it can get a little cheesy as well.

Come join me as I cover where the wrongful accused trial cliche begins. We're introduced to a mystery where clearly Kirk is innocent, he's assigned a terrible lawyer and then the judges agree to put all of their lives in danger, as we get a soap opera ending involving a character we care nothing about,

Come join me as I review this terrible episode that a lot of people seem to enjoy for some reason. It introduces the shuttle crash cliche to the franchise, and it has everyone be SUPER annoying to Spock as McCoy reminds him at least 18 times that this is his first command, while a bunch of College Mascots hit the ship with big chunks of grey styrofoam. While on the Enterprise Kirk is ordered to leave his officers to die because the annoying bureaucrat needs to not be late to his meeting.

Come join me as I cover this overrated and poorly acted episode, that introduces Star Trek's obsession with Shakespeare but is actually quite boring. They also introduce an intense and shocking back story for Kirk THAT WILL NEVER BE MENTIONED EVER AGAIN!

Come join me as I cover this episode with a fascinating dystopian premise, but a bunch of annoying kids, and some funny ham acting from Shatner. All and all would be quite a good episode if they hadn't introduced an exact duplicate of Earth for no good reason.

Join me as I cover this annoying episode with an effective sleazy character, a physiologist who sucks at her job, and a lot of headache inducing loud noises, and the worst guest performance in the entire show, which is a bold statement because this is TOS after all

Come join me as I cover this incredibly average episode where Kirk and Chapel go to meet Chapel's ex-fiancee and find he's turned into a mad man who wants to replace everyone with androids, and Kirk holds a rock that is ridiculously phallic.

Come join me as I cover this classic, and amazing take on the sub marine chase genre but this time IN SPAAAACE. This is a rare case where Shatner gives a good performance (so savor it), and over all it takes a very complex and thoughtful approach to military combat, as well as hitting you in the feels.

Join me as I cover this cringing episode that yet again deals with God like powers, this time a socially awkard teenager who just so happens to be a sociopath gets them, and he proceeds to do sadistic and sick things to the crew yet everyone cries when he's taken away instead of celebrating.

Join me as I cover this classic fun episode where the crew gets a virus that makes them super intoxicated and high jinks and ham acting ensue.
