Enchantment of Eternity’s Star Trek Episode Reviews
Welcome to Enchantment of Eternity. I’m Marc, and I’m on a mission to analyze every episode of the Star Trek Franchise. I started with The Original Series, and then moved on to The Next Generation, and now I’m covering Deep Space Nine and Voyager in order of airdate. It’s my mission statement to always give my honest opinion on each and every episode regardless of what the popular opinion is, so sometimes I have some hot takes. I prefer character based stories. I try to analyze the writing, acting, cinematography, and music of each episode, with emphasis on the writing. I explore themes and commentaries on the episode and give my opinion on whether or not it works, as well as explore some behind the scenes tidbits and trivia, and share my personal experience with the episode. We also hear from my patreon supporters and what they think of the episode. So check me out and give it a listen.

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Season 5 Episode 7 "Let he who is without sin" explained. Join me as I review and recap the infamously bad episode where Worf and Dax go to the Risa and argue with each other the whole entire time. Worf joins a group of conservative "family values" time who tries to get Risa shut down because they think they make the Federation weak, and they even resort to terrorist tactics to accomplish their goals. And Worf tells a sad story about accidently killing a kid in a soccer game when he was younger, which was beyond riciculoua. So yeah this episodes earns its reputation as being terrible. Star Trek: Voyager Season 3 Episodes 8 & 9 "Future's End Parts 1 and 2" explained. Join me as I review and recap the two parter that tries to recapture the magic of Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home and fails miserably. The "present day" LA doesn't feel like present day, it's too goofy and cheesy, it feels like something dreamed up by studio execs who are out of touch with modern culture. And the dialog seems like it was written by boomers who don't understand how young people talk. And the jokes mostly don't land. And the time travel logic makes absolutely no sense, so the plot is a giant mess. And Ed Begley Jr. may be a good actor but was totally miscast for this role. But hey, at least Sarah Silverman is good in this episode. Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Season 5 Episode 6 "Trials and Tribble-ations" explained. Join me as I review and recap the great and renown episode that takes old TOS footage and splices in the (then) modern characters of DS9. And this was glorious and done so well where it seems nearly seamless. And it's a great tribute to The Original Series, and it's Deep Space Nine acknowledging its roots. I mean how great is it to see Sisko talking to Captain Kirk. However all that being said, this episode is great at what it does, but it's just a tribute episode. Many people call this the best episode of DS9 and frankly I find that insulting. This does not represent DS9. DS9 is a great show on its own merits, for its amazing characters, hard hitting commentary, tear jerking drama and complex stories of intrigue, and this episode has NONE of that. And let's be honest here the story and plot is paper thin, and quite frankly bad, because it exists only to serve the nostalgia. And there's nothing wrong with that, but it's by no means one of the best episodes of DS9. So that makes it in my opinion the MOST overrated episode of the entire Star Trek franchise. Star Trek: Voyager Season 3 Episode 7 "Sacred Ground" explained. Join me as I review and recap the episode where Kes (out of character) wanders off and sticks her hand in a giant weird glowing thingy and then (shocker of all shocks) is put in a coma and is in danger of dying. So Janeway then must complete these religious rituals and go on her own spiritual journey in order save Kes' life, but actually it turns out none of that was necessary all she had to do was take some space molly and give some to Kes and walk back into the glowing death device, but the episode is going to act like Janeway had some profound spiritual growth even though it wasn't at all earned. But not to worry because this will never ever be mentioned again. Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Season 5 Episode 5 "The Assignment" explained. Join me as I review and recap the episode where Keiko is possessed by a Pah-wraith in order to manipulate O'Brien into killing the prophets for them. This is when DS9 really starts to go full fantasy with the introduction of evil prophets. And this is nothing by a cliché body possession story that Trek as done many times before. Plus it adds the old "24" trope of someone holding someone's loved one hostage and threatening to kill them in order to manipulate that person to do whatever they want. On top of those clichés this is yet another "O'Brien must suffer" episode, that as gotten really tiresome. *yawn* Come see my first reaction as I breakdown the episode and attempt to give my in depth analysisSupport Enchantment of Eternity on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/enchantmentofeternityListen to this video in audio podcast form: https://enchantmentofeternity.podbean.com/Check out Enchantment of Eternity on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/enchantmentofeternity/Check Out Enchantment of Eternity on Bluesky: https://bsky.app/profile/enchantment33.bsky.social0:00 Intro / Synopsis3:50 The Body Possession Trope8:46 Why I find Season 5 Bland12:58 The "24" Trope20:03 The Introduction of the Pah-Wraiths22:59 Patreon Comments43:49 Rating46:22 Outro

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Season 5 Episode 3 "Nor the Battle to the Strong" explained. Join me as I review and recap the episode where the Klingons attack a Federation colony, kill them in the most brutal way, while also destroying starships near the area. The Klingons. THE KLINGONS!!! this comes even after a cease fire is declared 3 episodes ago and no real explanation is ever given as to why. I mean WTF the Klingons are supposed to be allies. ALLIES!!! Not killing and beheading innocent Federation civilians. Seriously WTF!!! So there was some plot about Jake helping war time medics and learning that the line between bravery and cowardice is thinning than most people think, but I don't know I couldn't really pay any attention to that I was too distracted by the fact THE KLINGONS WERE ATTACKING A FEDERATION WORLD!!! And also all the bad acting. Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Season 5 Episode 3 "Looking for Par'mach in all the wrong places" explained. Join me as I review and recap the episode where Worf gets a crush on a visiting Klingon who turns out to be Quark's ex-wife. Worf is rejected due to his status as an outcast, so he helps Quark woe her instead all the time not noticed Dax whose right in front of him until she has to physically grab him to get him to notice her. While this episode doesn't have a lot of value, the getting someone to love someone else clich is bland, but it was a fun episode and it finally put two characters together that had great chemistry from the very beginning. Star Trek: Voyager Season 3 Episode 6 "Remember" explained. Join me as I review and recap the episode that feels like a TNG episode, because it was, that is the script was based off a TNG script that never got made. However it seems to me that this works much better as a Voyager episode as B'Elanna works better in this role than Troi would have because of her angry disposition. And this over all is an amazing episode that lures you in with a Romeo and Juliet type storyline, but it actually ends up being about a genocide and the propaganda that covers up and denies that the genocide is occurring. A repeating theme throughout history and one that is still relevant today. Star Trek: Voyager Season 3 Episode 4 "False Profits" explained. Join me as I review and recap the episode where the two Ferengi who were stranded in the Delta Quadrant in the TNG episode "The Price" pop up. Which is a concept I thought I'd like but what they do with it is terrible, as they have to do some contrived plot of Neelix dressing up as a Ferengi and then trying to fulfill a prophecy, when really all they had to do is beam them up and leave. And doing these shenanigans cost them their ticket home, making this the worst "we almost got home" episode in the entire show.
