Welcome to Enchantment of Eternity. I’m Marc, and I’m on a mission to analyze every episode of the Star Trek Franchise. I started with The Original Series, and then moved on to The Next Generation, and now I’m covering Deep Space Nine and Voyager in order of airdate. It’s my mission statement to always give my honest opinion on each and every episode regardless of what the popular opinion is, so sometimes I have some hot takes. I prefer character based stories. I try to analyze the writing, acting, cinematography, and music of each episode, with emphasis on the writing. I explore themes and commentaries on the episode and give my opinion on whether or not it works, as well as explore some behind the scenes tidbits and trivia, and share my personal experience with the episode. Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Season 3 Episode 25 "Facets" explained. Join me as I review and recap the episode where Jadzia under goes a Trill ritual to meet Dax's past hosts. It's an interesting character exploration for Dax and it gives the other actors a chance to play different characters, but the main story line with Odo and Curzon becoming their own joined person was a really interesting character exploration of both Curzon and Odo. Star Trek: Voyager Season 1 Episode 13 "Faces" explained. Join me as I review and recap the episode where Tuvok behaves like gym teacher to a group of misfit Marquis and makes them run laps around the ship. Look, I like the idea of the show exploring the pains of integrating the Marquis into the Starfleet crew, but this should have been done at the start of the season not the end of it. And this is the total wrong way to do it, as it doesn't make sense that the way to try to get these untrained Marquis to feel like part of the crew and to get them familar with Starfleet regulations is for Tuvok to treat them like trash and make them run laps around the ship. Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Season 3 Episode 24 "Family Business" explained. Join me as I review and recap the episode where we meet Shakaar the handsome leader of Kira's Resistance Cell who definitely is NOT a candle ghost. He was okay, I think it's a bit ridiculous that her cell was named after a person but whatever. This episode is more interesting for it's portrayal of Kai Winn trying to seize power as Bajor's First Minister and that she nearly starts a civil war over the fact that she doesn't want her power challenged, it's true to Winn's character and makes great commentary. Star Trek: Voyager Season 1 Episode 13 "Faces" explained. Join me as I review and recap the episode where B'elanna gets split into two people a Klingon, and a human. In a VERY on the nose attempt to explore the inner battle between B'elanna's two halves, this is a very clunky and sloppy way to explore those with mixed heritage and it mostly come off as silly and ridiculous. Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Season 3 Episode 22 "Explorers" explained. Join me as I review and recap the episode where Jake and Benjamin Sisko go on a father / son trip on an ancient Bajoran sailing space ship. There are some great character moments between the two and Benjamin and Jake continue to be the strongest father / son relationship in Trek, but the main story about them sailing a space ship to prove the ancient Bajorans made it to Cardassia was not interesting and a little silly. Frankly I appreciate the B plot more that saw Bashir feeling inadequate over a visit from a former class mate who ignored him, which has a glorious scene of Bashir and O'Brien getting drunk together.
